A UNIQUE MOUNTAINSIDE LOCATION, IDEAL FOR CYCLIST, SNOWBOARDERS AND SKIERS
Chalet 800 is a renovated chalet with the luxury of hotelrooms in the French Alps. It is situated in the heart of the village of Oz en Oisans, at a breath-taking location in the valley of the Oisans, near Alpe d'Huez. From the Chalet you can explore the beautiful surroundings the whole year round, in the winter time by skis and in the summer by bike. There are also many scenic walks to discover in the spring or fall.
The Chalet provides 4 spacious ensuite bedrooms, double or twin and a luxury appartment for 2 (or 4). We are flexible in arriving and departure dates, wheter you are staying 1 night or 7 nights. It is possible to rent the whole chalet for 8 people or 1/2 the chalet with the livingroom for 4 people or just a room in the chalet.
HALFBOARD and BREAKFAST option possible
When you stay at Chalet 800 you can add breakfast and dinner to your reservaton in the restaurant of Auberge la Cure.
Every morning we serve a nutritious continental breakfast in the restaurant of Auberge la Cure from 7h30 until 10h00. The breakfast includes different kinds of bread, cereals, fruit, spreads and jams, coffee, tea and juice.
Half board includes breakfast and a daily changing three course dinner. In the morning you can enjoy a nutritious breakfast in our restaurant and in the evening, between 19h00 and 20h00 we serve you a tasty three course dinner in the restaurant of Auberge la Cure. We provide nutritious meals, which are low on fat and full of carbohydrates.

Restaurant Auberge la Cure is situated next to Chalet 800. In our cozy restaurant or on our sunny terrace you can enjoy our delicious meals. The restaurant is known for special and gastronomic meals which are prepared with love and care. To complement your meal we have a suitable wine list.
The meals we serve are French, gastronomic and authentic. The meals are prepared with fresh ingredients from the season. Therefor our menu is not so big but carefully selected and where possible we try to collaborate with local producers.

OUR REGION - THE FRENCH ALPES
The Chalet is a great location for road cyclists on a cycling holiday. Oz en Oisans village is situated at the start of the climb to the Glandon/Croix de Fer. Also the climb to Alpe d’Huez is only 10 kilometers from the chalet and is famous for its 21 bends that have been featured in the Tour de France many times.
The valley of the l’Oisans has a lot to offer with other famous mountain passes in the area like the Galibier, Lautaret and Sarenne.
Oz en Oisans village is an easily accessible traditional village, nearby the resort of Alpe d’Huez. Chalet 800 is situated in the heart of this characteristic mountain village, and is a perfect place for your winter sports holiday. A free shuttle bus takes you in 10 minutes from Oz Village to the slopes in Alpe d’Huez, were you have access to 250 kilometers of slopes.
SPRING AND FALL
Chalet 800 is an ideal place to start marvelous hikes throughout the region/in the mountains. The chalet is situated just around the corner from the National Parc des Écrins which is a paradise for every mountain lover or mountaineer. You can discover the national park on a day hike or by hiking from hut to hut.
Do you want to cycle Alpe d’Huez, le Croix de fer, Glandon, Sarenne or Galibier? You can do them all from Chalet 800 in Oz village.
Besides the well-known mountain passes there are a lot of other beautiful and challenging mountain roads to discover.
Do you like a challenge? Then you are ready for La Marmotte, a famous sportive where you will climb four legendary mountain passes. Keep in mind that the mountain passes are not open all year round because of their altitude and are closed due to snow cover. The best period to cycle this impressive sportive is from June to mid-October.

MTB / DOWNHILL IN THE ALPES
The region of the l’Oisans is also very good for people who want to mountain bike or downhill. The region has a lot of very steep cross-country routes and challenging single tracks to descent from. Many mountain bike events also take place in Oz Station.
From the Auberge you can take your MTB on the free bus to Oz Station and from there the gondolas take you to Pic Blanc in Alpe d’Huez. The gondolas are open in July and August.

WINTER SPORT IN THE FRENCH ALPS

SKI AREA ALPE D’HUEZ (GRAND DOMAINE)
The ski area of Alpe d’Huez is nicknamed the island in the SUN, because the sun is out more than 300 days a year here. With more than 250 kilometers of slopes this area is one of the biggest ski areas in France. The area reaches from 3330m to 1130m. The highest peak of this area is the Pic Blanc (3330m) and always has snow.
From Pic Blanc the longest black slope in the world starts, the Sarenne, with a total length of 16 kilometers.
You can keep yourself busy for many days because of the diversity of the area. Alpe d’Huez offers you 17 black slopes, 39 red slopes, 37 bleu slopes and 42 green slopes.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR YOUR WINTER SPORT
In the ski area of Alpe d’Huez you have several options for your ski pass. There is a pass for the whole area (Grand Domaine) or just for the area of Oz-Vaujany. You can also choose 1 day or half day passes. If you want to check out the prices or book your pass in advance click on PRICES OZ-VAUJANY

FAMILY SKI PASS
If you are coming with your family you can get a discount when you buy a family pass.
The terms and conditions are as followed:
- Minimum of 4 people: Or 1 adult and 3 children: Or 2 adults/seniors (23 to 71) and 2 children (5 to 22) (1 child should be part of the family)
- Minimum of 6 days
- You have to order the ski pass at least 7 days before your 1st ski day
- A web exclusive ski pass

RENT AND STORE YOUR SKI MATERIAL
We highly recommend the ski shop of 2GSports in Oz Station. You can rent the best equipment in their shop and if you are staying in Auberge la Cure you can store your ski equipment there. The staff is very kind and helpful and they make sure your ski boots are heated in the morning. You can reserve your material online at 2GSPORTS
SKI LESSONS OR GUIDES AT ESF
The ESF (Ecole de ski Français) in Oz Station can help you improve your ski, snowboard or cross-country skills. They offer a variety of lessons, for groups, individuals, adults or children (from 2,5 years old). For more information take a look at ESF
ACCESSIBILITY SKI AREA
The region of Alpe d’Huez is easy accessible by car or by airplane. The road up to Oz station is always free of snow. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you in 10 minutes from Oz Village to Oz Station, the start of the slopes in Alpe d’Huez. There are plenty of places to park your car.
SPRING AND FALL
Auberge la Cure is an ideal place to start marvelous hikes throughout the region/in the mountains. The hotel is situated just around the corner from the National Parc des Écrins which is a paradise for every mountain lover or mountaineer. You can discover the national park on a day hike or by hiking from hut to hut.
Outside the park there are also lots of hiking possibilities like the marked routes of the GR (Grandes Randonnées) or one of the many regional hiking routes to serene alpine lakes, marvelous mountain passes and remote mountain huts. Hopefully you’ll encounter some of the amazing wildlife of the region like an ibex, mouflon or chamois along your way.
The best months to enjoy the mountains by foot are September and October because of the temperate weather, the marvelous autumn colors and the lack of other tourists.

NATIONAL PARC DES ECRINS
Bourg d’Oisans is at the foot of the National Parc des Écrins. This is the largest National park in France and is famous because of its many high mountain peaks. In the park there are more than 150 mountain peaks above 3000m. Two of the most famous peaks are La Barre des Écrins (4102 meter) and La Meije (3983 meter).
